I've decided to use normal plywood for them (not easy to find marine-grade in Germany!), but to compensate for that by drenching/penetrating it with the most evil varnish on the market.
First step is to cut it into desired shape:

Next step is to stain them in "old teak":

And the I've used G8 Super from VossChemie to varnish it. Careful, it's evil stuff and it can only be used on exterior wood, so don't use it in wood that'll be in the boat/house.
